Nirmal 25

Sequel Post to Nirmal 23, Nirmal 24

I turn 25 today!  Silver Jubilee :))

25 is a magic number kinda stuff. I guess i have almost reached near half-way mark of one's lifetime. Karthik in his blog talks about being more mature and responsible for this magic number age.

Today is also my sister's bday. Not many brothers/sisters (forget the twins) share the same bday. I consider that quite special. Difference in age between me and her is 8 years. Best part of this even when i was older (say 10 years old) i had to cut cakes with both our names on it because my parents had to celebrate her bday. I made a collage of some of our bday pics. For both of us strangely, parents didnt celebrate our first bday for reasons. Drawings present in the collage are mine  and decorations were my cousin's idea. It is very nostalgic when you see those photos after 15 years. thank god i made a cd of those old photos and transferred to them my system. Wherever i go, i hope to carry this cd along!

And i am nearing my 150th post and completed 4 years in blogosphere. I recollect, the first time i heard the word blog was in stella maris college where i had gone to give mock cat. I overheard Krish, one of potential BLACKIS prospect then(he made it to B that year itself),talking about commenting in AC's blog. I asked him what exactly blog was and what commenting means. he said "it is like an online journal.you write diary right..you write and people will comment on it". That was the time when everyone adored GOOGLE and its products esp gmail, orkut was in nascent stages with limited access.Gmail id was considered cool/special then.I was still not sure how people will know what i write or how it works...! But the idea of having a website with my name made me open blog on blogger which is one of the products of google. Another advantage in signing up with blogger is when you do self-google your name, google displays your blogger profile as the first link, higher than linkedin or facebook! Isnt that cool!!

First few posts i never had any theme to write on!i have posted some forwards, few things totally un-related. I never intended to update it regularly. But that was when i read a lot of blogs and the theme.I liked reading blogs where the theme was personal and nostalgic. You dont know them but you can relate to what they write. Finally i decided my theme has to "its my life". One can write about so many things, you can write about inflation, sports,indian-media, terrorism, gossips, cricket if you intend to update daily. Like everyone who starts with interests and suddenly loses it, me no exception. And this post by Ferrari  was an inspiration to try atleast one short story!Thankfully i wrote one!

I think blogs is place you can vent/share your emotions/ideas/thoughts .I find some bloggers get confused about writing blogs and getting comments/getting traffic/high page ranks in google.I guess once you start taking blogs very seriously as in that seriously about traffic and high page ranks, then when you plan to write a blog you start to wonder whether he will like this or whether she will be impressed to comment or will they read and all other things.Best thing is you shouldnt take it that seriously and enjoy it for yourself and not influenced by others style of writing/genre and content!!!

Writing conveys emotions in a strong sense. Many might disagree with me here on this. You might have forgotten what exactly your best friend shouted at you when you fought with him but just read all your archived emails, may be the emails you sent him when he reached a new country for his higher education or he sent you on him getting a summer intern..etc etc....words convey emotions very powerfully and make you happy!!If you still disagree try out these(before you sleep-i dont recommend reading either on start of the day) short stories,i am sure both will engage you till the very end.I am not a sucker for emotions anyday.

Thanks to everyone who read/read/will read this blog!

I always look forward to this post for the fun(fantasy) part :) .I am going to end this post the same way i ended Nirmal 24 ;)

Every time i look at the mirror, I find few silver hair, i realise i am getting old.Getting old is inevitable but then the  WAIT as always continues :) with  greater hope !!!
